People with Cataracts now have a Choice...
Most people expect to wear glasses after their cataracts
are treated. But now the ARRAY multifocal lens implant is
changing all that.
The ARRAY multifocal lens implant is the first to offer
a range of vision from near to far. That means many people
won't need glasses for everyday activities-even close-up
activities like reading a newspaper or doing crafts.
What kind of results could you expect with the ARRAY? You
should ask your doctor. But in a recent scientific survey
of people who received ARRAY multifocal lens implants, 9
out of 10 never, or occasionally wore glasses.
Some people who receive multifocal implants or traditional
implants report halos or glare at night. These effects are
more common with multifocal than traditional implants.
To find out if the FDA-approved ARRAY is right for you or
someone you know, please ask your doctor for the ARRAY Multifocal
Patient Information Brochure. Now you have a choice.
What Doctors Have to Say:
"For the first time, we have an artificial lens that allows
someone to see sell in the distance and then read something
up close after cataract surgery-- in many cases, without
glasses. This may greatly enhance patients' quality of life,"
says Roger Steinert, MD, assistant clinical professor of
ophthalmology, Harvard Medical School, and monitor of the
AMO ARRAY clinical trials.
Even though some patients may still need glasses, in clinical
trials, doctors found that patients would experience:
Less use of glasses overall
41% of ARRAY patients never need glasses
Less use of glasses for distance vision
84% of patients never wear distance glasses
Less use of glasses for near vision
38.4% of ARRAY patients never wear reading glasses
